I know all too well how tough it is out there both physically and financially for so many people to train, one concern that I have is that people will begin to loose hope, grow sad and despondent, and loose the will to do some of the things that they would normally do. When were in a rut, its easy for it take control, but there is no need to let it hold us back and prevent us from enjoying the rest of our lives. Although this may impact on a number of activities and pleasures, I hope that it does not affect your fitness routine. If its one thing that needs to remain resilient, it is exercise.
I can only begin to state the good reasons why you should continue working out even when times are tough. Chances are you already know, but exercise can alter your mood, increasing the production of body chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins are natural mood elevators and are the reason you feel better after a workout than you did before.
Furthermore, working out makes you fitter and stronger, and helps you look better. When you look and feel good, you are more confident in your abilities and less likely to undergo the severe mood swings that stress can cause.
This is important for so many reasons, not the least of which is that the better your outlook, the more likely you are to recognize opportunities – financially, physically or otherwise – when they present themselves.
Ultimately exercise is a great distraction from all the troubles out there. Time flies when your training, when I train, if I was feeling despondent before I started my routine, I never failed to finish with lifted spirits. It may sound trite but I truly believe that working out made me a more positive and productive person.
Of course I don’t mean to imply that all of life’s worries can be solved with a personal trainer. This is simply not true. I just want to remind you that even though the temptation is strong to abandon things in your life that seem too hard or expensive, please don’t give up on training, I know it has helped me get through some tough times and I’m sure it can do the same for you.
